Why is it important to get a pre-approval?

This is Chris Krogmeier with Lake Country Home Realty. Today I’m going to talk to you about a mortgage pre-approval. Why is it important to get a pre-approval letter? I have 3 great reasons. One, it allows you to see how much home you can afford. Two, it helps your Realtor improve your home search. And Three, it makes your offer stronger and more likely to get accepted.

Another great question is: When is the best time to get pre-approved? Pre-approval letters last about 3 months, so you will want to be within 3 months of purchasing, and you will definitely want to be pre-approved prior to writing an offer. So, when you are getting serious about making a home purchase it’s a good time to go ahead and get pre-approved.
